Winter Reflections At Charleston Lake Park, Arkansas
Two days ago, it wasn’t very birdy at Charleston Lake Park in Arkansas, and I’m okay with that. I was happy photographing winter reflections on the lake.

It has been nearly ten years since I took this photo and it remains one of my favorite Reddish Egret photos because of the clouds reflecting on the still waters of a lagoon at Fort De Soto County Park.
Typically by this time of the year the water at Farmington Bay WMA is frozen over but this year it wasn't when I photographed this Pied-billed Grebe 4 days ago.
I've always liked the calm mood this image conveys partially because the stalking pose of the Great Egret (Ardea alba), the silky smooth surface of the water, the reflection and how the out of focus Snowy Egret and Little Blue Heron give the frame a depth that wouldn't be there without them.
