Amber Snail at Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge
I've been meaning to share this Amber Snail photo since last summer. Today’s as good a day as any, so here it is. Pretty sure it’s an Amber Snail—though I could be wrong.

Eagle-eye Steve spotted this land snail at Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge nearly hidden in the Johnson Grass. It was so pretty I had to photograph it.
Eleven years ago today I was wandering and looking for birds to photograph at Lake Seminole Park in Florida and found a very cooperative Limpkin that was foraging for breakfast.
Florida is about as far north as Limpkins are found in North America and they can be seen in freshwater marshes, ponds, lakeshores and swamps.
