It was very hot yesterday when I photographed this American Robin. The heat index was 109°F, I was melting. What do these birds do to help them handle the heat?
Last week while I was photographing some Lark Sparrows in northern Utah I took images of this one who had droopy wings because the sparrow was hot. I was hot, I know how the sparrow felt.
I don't know if the birds think the water of the Great Salt Lake looks refreshing but on a hot day like today I sure do!
