Buttonbush Images From Oklahoma
I smiled when I saw blooming Buttonbush at Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge in the early June. I haven't seen Buttonbush blooms since I left Florida in 2009.

This morning's coreopsis photo didn't bug me because it had a fly on one of the flowers. In fact the fly didn’t bother me at all.
My problem with Deer Flies is that while living in Utah I became extremely allergic to their bites. Each time I am bitten by the Deer Flies my reaction is worse.
This morning I wanted to share my recent Common Sunflower photos from Bear River MBR and some of the insects that pollinate these native wildflowers.
There are times I see funny things while I am out photographing that tickle me so much that I have to laugh out loud and yesterday that was this Least Chipmunk with a fly on its head.
Both of the fledgling Short-eared Owls I took photos of that morning appeared very relaxed while I photographed them, they looked around, preened, yawned, stretched and even rested with their eyes closed.
Two years ago during the worst of the summer heat I photographed this Coyote and watched while it was pestered and probably bitten by a persistent Deer Fly.
I readily admit that sometimes I daydream about being able to fly like a bird and quite often the bird I wish I were is a Red-tailed Hawk.
