First Winter Red-tailed Hawk Lift Off Photos
Last month I spent twenty-eight lovely minutes photographing this first winter Red-tailed Hawk in the marsh at Farmington Bay WMA.
Last month I spent twenty-eight lovely minutes photographing this first winter Red-tailed Hawk in the marsh at Farmington Bay WMA.
This juvenile Red-tailed Hawk may have looked like it was giving me the eye when I photographed it but it was actually looking for one of its parents to bring it some food.
Burrowing Owls and American Robins are about the same size but they are two very different species of birds.
Being a bird photographer has its rewards beyond the most obvious which for me is being out in nature or better yet being a part of it. It means with patience and plenty of time in the field I do get it right.
I wonder if these two juvenile Red-tailed Hawks will hang around for the winter, I sure hope so.
Just a few images from this past week.
