- Six-lined Racerunners are found in the central and southeastern United States, from Kansas to Florida and Texas. They prefer dry, open habitats like fields, prairies, and forest edges.

- Six-lined Racerunners lay clutches of 2-7 eggs in underground nests in late spring or early summer. The eggs hatch in 6-8 weeks. Females may lay multiple clutches per year.
