The Stories Behind My Images
American Coot On The Last Day Of Winter
One of the birds I photographed on the last day of winter at Bear River MBR was an American Coot. I happen to like seeing their big, funky-looking feet.
Last Day Of Winter Tundra Swans
When I was at Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge on the last day of winter, I decided to take a video of some of the Tundra Swans I found on the auto tour loop.
Close Up Killdeer In Soft Morning Light
The first bird I photographed yesterday morning at Bear River MBR was this Killdeer in soft morning light. Truthfully, I am glad my first bird was a Killdeer.
Male Great-tailed Grackle Looking At… Something
When I took this photo of a male Great-tailed Grackle, I wondered what the grackle was looking at so intently. The grackle even seemed disturbed by what it could see.
Cooper’s Hawk – Nearly Hidden And In Plain Sight
Two days ago, while I was photographing some Rock Squirrels, I saw a beautiful immature Cooper's Hawk fly in and land in a tangle of trees near the squirrels.
My First Of Year Rock Squirrel
I got out for about 30 minutes yesterday because the weather forecast was wrong, again. When I found my first-of-year Rock Squirrel, the sun was shining bright.
The Stories Behind My Images
Buttonbush Images From Oklahoma
I smiled when I saw blooming Buttonbush at Tishomingo National Wildlife Refuge in the early June. I haven't seen Buttonbush blooms since I left Florida in 2009.
Bathing American Robin Adult In Arkansas
It got really hot yesterday and if there were a bird bath here I might have gotten into it and splashed around like this bathing American Robin did in April.
Focusing On A Female Red-bellied Woodpecker
Today my post focuses on an adult female Red-bellied Woodpecker because she is lovely. I took these images in Arkansas in my friend Steve Creek's yard.
My Best Scissor-tailed Flycatcher Photos – So Far
I finally decided to share my best Scissor-tailed Flycatcher photos that I've taken since my move. I created a gallery and hope to get more photos of them soon.
