The Stories Behind My Images
Midwinter Daydreaming
I have spent time daydreaming about the birds of spring and summer recently because I have a touch of the midwinter blues. It has been a very gray winter.
Fluffy Butt Pied-billed Grebe
What bird is cuter than a fluffy butt Pied-billed Grebe? There are probably quite a few birds as cute but this one taken four years ago tickled my fancy today.
WordPress Hiccup This Morning
I had a WordPress hiccup this morning that prevented the email notifications from being sent when I published my post this morning.
European Starling In Snow
This morning my subject is a European Starling in snow. I know some people hate these birds. I know some photographers won't raise their lens for them. I do.
American Robin Photos – Borbs In Snow
This morning I am sharing four American Robin photos taken three days ago close to home. Each one of the robins looks like a borb in the snow.
Winter Cedar Waxwing In A Crabapple Tree
After the overnight snowfall two days ago I was able to photograph this Cedar Waxwing feeding on ripened crabapples along with loads of robins and starlings.
The Stories Behind My Images
Male Variegated Meadowhawk Dragonfly Photos
When I last visited Farmington Bay WMA, I found flights of Variegated Meadowhawk dragonflies on the wing and resting, near and on Goose Egg Island.
Adult Eurasian Collared-Dove
Yesterday, I shared some Mourning Dove photos taken at Farmington Bay WMA. Today, my subject is a Eurasian Collared-Dove also photographed on the same day.
Mourning Dove In Morning Light
Yesterday at Farmington Bay WMA, the first bird I saw through my viewfinder was a male Mourning Dove perched on a boulder, bathed in soft, warm morning light.
One Chonky American Goldfinch
When I was at Farmington Bay WMA last week, I had a chonky American Goldfinch fly in and land on a greasewood in front of me. Of course, I took photos of it.
