- Marbled Godwits are large shorebirds with pinkish based, long slightly upturned bills, long legs are are buff brown all over.
- Marbled Godwits are migratory. They spend winters on the Atlantic, Pacific and Gulf coasts of North and Central America. The breed in grasslands in a few northern U.S. States and a few areas of Canada.
- Marbled Godwits consume insects, mollusks, worms and crustaceans.
- Marbled Godwit habitats include grasslands for breeding, marshes and flooded plains for migration and during the winter they are found on beaches, mudflats and saltwater marshes.
- Marbled Godwits lay 3 to 5 eggs which hatch in 21 to 23 days. Both sexes incubate and they are monogamous. The female leaves on migration earlier than the male leaving him to finish rearing their young.
- A group of Marbled Godwits can be called a “pantheon”, “omniscience” or a “prayer” of godwits.
- Marbled Godwits can live up to 29 years.
