Baeolophus ridgwayi
- Juniper Titmice are small, plain gray-brown birds with gray crested heads and long tails. Sexes are similar.
- Juniper Titmice are nonmigratory.
- Juniper Titmice are residents of the western and southwestern U.S. and are found primarily in open juniper woodlands.
- Juniper Titmice eat berries, seeds and insects.
- Juniper Titmice lay 3 to 9 eggs which hatch in 14 to 16 days. The females incubate and they are monogamous. The females sit on the nest very tightly and will hiss like a snake if disturbed.
- Groups of titmice are called a “banditry” of titmice.
- Juniper Titmice can live to be 8 years old.
