Devil’s Den State Park is a scenic natural area located in the Boston Mountains region of northwest Arkansas. The park covers 2,500 acres and features rugged terrain, dense forests, and unique rock formations.

  • Devil’s Den State Park was established in the 1930s by the Civilian Conservation Corps. The park is named for a cave that was believed to have been used as a hideout by outlaws.
  • Devil’s Den State Park offers diverse recreational activities including hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, rock climbing, and camping. The park has over 20 miles of hiking trails and 8 miles of mountain biking trails. The park’s most notable features are its sandstone crevices, bluffs, caves, and rock formations. Lee Creek flows through the park, creating small waterfalls and cascades.
  • Devil’s Den State Park is home to a variety of wildlife including white-tailed deer, raccoons, opossums, and numerous bird species. The park’s forests consist mainly of oak, hickory, and pine trees.
  • Devil’s Den State Park hosts several annual events including the Ozark Mountain Bike Festival in spring and the Bat-O-Rama in September to observe the park’s bat population. The park’s visitor center features exhibits on the area’s natural and cultural history. Guided hikes and interpretive programs are offered throughout the year.
  • Devil’s Den State Park is open year-round and attracts over 500,000 visitors annually.
