Cuban Tree Frog Images, Facts and Information:
Osteopilus septentrionalis
- Cuban Tree Frogs are large, with adults ranging from 1.5 to 5 inches in length. They have smooth, warty skin that can be gray, brown, or green in color. They have large toe pads that help them climb trees and other surfaces.
- Cuban Tree Frogs are native to Cuba and the Bahamas, but they have been introduced to other parts of the world, including Florida. Cuban Tree Frogs are arboreal, meaning they live in trees. They are often found in urban and suburban areas, as well as natural habitats like forests and swamps.
- Cuban Tree Frogs are opportunistic feeders, meaning they will eat almost anything they can fit in their mouths. Their diet includes insects, spiders, other frogs, lizards, and even small mammals.
- Cuban Tree Frogs breed in the spring and summer. Females lay clutches of up to 1,000 eggs, which hatch into tadpoles that metamorphose into frogs in about 2 months.
