Cormorants And Anhingas

Cormorants and Anhingas

Families: Phalacrocoracidae and Anhingidae

There are seven species in two families in North America. These are dark, generally blackish, waterbirds that eat fish that are captured underwater. Anhingas have sharp pointed bills and cormorants have hooked bill tips. Some cormorants are often found in freshwater while others are found almost exclusively in saltwater.
