- American Minks are long bodied mustelids that typically have dark fur with long tails, short legs, smallish heads and pointed snouts.
- American Minks can be found near streams, creeks, lakes, and ponds.
- American Minks eat fish, snakes, frogs, muskrats, chipmunks, mice, rabbits, waterfowl, and other small birds.
- American Minks give birth to 1 to 8 young which are called kits. The young mink stay with the adult female for 6 to 10 months.
