Today, I’m sharing a view and video of Charleston Lake shrouded in fog, with a Bald Eagle perched high in a tree. It was a beautiful start to the morning.

I took a few photos of Bald Eagles in the distance, including the image above. I had high hopes that one of the eagles might fly close enough for high-quality, frame-filling shots, but that wasn’t meant to be.
Mostly, I was enchanted by the foggy views along the lake shore. It felt peaceful. It was peaceful.
I also recorded videos of the fog and the nearby birds, but the video below practically whispered to me that others might enjoy seeing it too.

The lakeshore, with the Bald Eagle perched in a tree and Canada Geese flying past, still seemed grounded despite the dense, swirling fog. Other bird sounds included a Northern Flicker calling and a White-throated Sparrow near the end of the video.
I don’t know who else might need a few moments of nature, but after the past 10–11 days, I think I could watch this video over and over again simply because it relaxes me. There is only nature, and that is the calm I’ve needed.
Life is good.
Mia
