Today, I am sharing Pine Warbler photos that I have taken on three different days here in Arkansas. Until recently, these warblers have been a nemesis for me.

Last year, when I was in Arkansas, I did photograph Pine Warblers. There wasn’t even one photograph that I was happy with, though.
This spring is a different story. I’m thoroughly delighted to be able to photograph these warblers in my dear friend Steve Creek’s yard and garden.

Last year and this spring, I’ve been thrilled to hear these warblers singing. I love their songs, and I also enjoy photographing them. So far, I haven’t gotten any photos of the females, but the males are gorgeous.

I was even happier with my Pine Warbler images once I put my teleconverter back on. Because I had gotten so many close-up shots of bluebirds, I had removed my teleconverter to capture full-body images of them. However, I was missing close-up shots of other birds, including the Pine Warblers.

So, I started working on getting the Pine Warbler photos I have been hoping for, even though the light hasn’t been optimal for a few days. My Nikon D500 handles higher ISOs like a champ, though.

Yesterday, I took a few more images of my previous nemesis. I loved the resulting photos of these striking warblers; their bright plumage and songs simply make me smile.

I’ve been smiling a lot, can you tell?
By the way, in the last two images of the Pine Warbler, it was upset with an encroaching bird, not me or Steve. I thought that was important to address.
Life is good.
