Because I was and always will be a Military or Army Brat, I will always identify myself as a Dandelion. I bloom wherever I set down roots.
Dandelion gone to seed – Samsung Galaxy Tab A8 photo
Dandelions are able to grow and bloom just about anywhere their roots are planted. Not only that, but they symbolize happiness, joy, perseverance, endurance and hope. That is why they are the perfect representation of a military child.
A few days ago I was in Virginia. I was there taking care of some important and heart wrenching family matters.
I did take time each day to view, appreciate, and take a few cell phone or tablet photos. Those moments and the support of my family and friends kept me going even when I felt that I couldn’t.
When I saw this dandelion gone to seed, I knew that I wanted photos of it. Only this one photo turned out. The rest were blurry because the wind was blowing.
When I feel the winds of my personal life pushing on me, I only need to remember that it will be alright. It’s all good.
Life is good.
Mia
To my dear friends in Virginia: I am sorry that I couldn’t spend time with you. I wish I could have. I simply had too much on my plate, much to do, and only a limited time to do it.
Reminds me of an Alium. Very beautiful and unexpected. —Jeri
Exquisite detail. It reminds me of an exploding supernova. Timeless and beautiful. Thanks Mia.
HUGS. I really like the dandelion analogy too.
Sending love!
Being a BRAT I totally know how important a dandelion in bloom is to all of us. We’ve endures so much change in our lives and been resilient through it all .
What a beautiful, full Dandelion! They have taken over several yards, including mine, in our cul-de-sac as well as the street median nearby. I love their cheery flowers and their tasty leaves (in a salad or sautéed). I also may or may not blow on them once they go to seed.
I’ve always been fascinated with dandelions… I played with them when I was little. The bright yellow flowers growing in the middle of our yard made my Mother crazy. But I love watching the seeds fly away from the pappus spreading their joy to the world.
I will always route for the dandelions!
