Hey there! Today’s post is brought to you live from Salt Lake City, where a snowstorm of epic proportions is currently in full swing. Snow kidding.
Snow on February 22, 2023 on the radar map
I can’t help but wonder if I’m insane for living in a place where snowstorms like this can happen. I mean, sure, the snow can be beautiful and serene when it’s falling lightly, but when it’s coming down like this, I have to question why I moved from sunny Florida to Utah.
Despite my doubts about my own sanity, I was determined to write my post this morning. As I sit here typing, the snow is still falling outside, and the ground is covered in a thick blanket of white.
My snow covered Jeep this morning
You can see that my Jeep is buried under a mountain of snow at this point. In a bit I’ll pile on the layers of clothing that I am going to need to shovel and blow the snow that is already on the ground. And then I’ll be doing it again as more snow falls. It is a bit like playing Snow-Whack-a-Mole.
Snow level on my Jeep this morning
When I went outside a few minutes ago to measure the snow on the hood of my Jeep there was already 12 inches. Note: my Jeep is parked in an area that is slightly protected. I bet you there is at least 13 to 14 inches on the ground already.
So there you have it, folks. My daily blog post, brought to you by the Epic Snowstorm of 2023. Who knows what tomorrow will bring, but for now, I’m just going to hunker down, drink some more coffee, and hope that the snowplows arrive soon. Stay warm out there!
Who wants to play in the snow with me? You might be as wild and crazy as I am if you do!
Life is good.
Mia

FIRST ALERT WEATHER: Widespread snow leaves roads a mess for morning commute
Hope it keeps coming. Our lakes and rivers, throughout the west, need a lot of this kind of help. Ain’t the snow beautiful? Thanks Mia.
Wow! We are having a nearly snow-free winter here in central Connecticut. Only about 7 inches so far, of which none covered the ground for more than a few hours, compared to an average of over two feet. We have had a couple of really cold snaps, but as they may say in Arizona, “It’s a dry cold.”
I played in the snow last night. It was beautiful. We don’t have as much as you. Late last night when I went out around 11pm we had 6-7 inches. This morning when I shoveled at 9 we only had about 10 inches.
I’m in Ogden and “enjoying” the snow as much as you!
That is a lot of snow, we are supposed to get our share of that storm starting later this evening in Ontario, hope it will be nothing like yours. Thanks for sharing.
……and we in Niagara are about to get 12 hours of freezing rain! I’d rather snow. That snow should help the water levels in your area.
