Adult American White Pelican in bright morning light – Nikon D500, tripod mounted, f8, 1/1250, ISO 500, Nikkor 500mm VR with 1.4x TC, natural light
I have a lot going on right now so this morning I’m only sharing one image of an adult American White Pelican in bright morning light taken five days ago. This image was taken at a pond close to where I live on a cloudless sunny morning.
I liked the reflection of the white pelican on the dark water.
Spring has sprung since I took this pelican photo and I am itching to get out into the field to find more birds. The first of season Turkey Vultures, Swainson’s Hawks, Long-billed Curlews, Willets, Yellow Warblers, Broad-tailed Hummingbirds, House Wrens and many more migratory birds will soon be featured here on my blog.
I can hardly wait.
Life is good.

This photo of the pelican is spectacular! Wonderful Mia!
The balance between light and dark is spectacular. And the Pelicans reflection is literally spellbinding. A perfect pic. Thanks Mia.
The light play and the ripples in the water make this shot extra special. 🙂
I adore pelicans. Thank you.
Gorgeous shot, maybe I’ll run into you this week, I have Wed-Fri off.
Stunning shot!
