Colorful twilight at Red Rock Lakes NWR
I don’t have much to say today and all I really wanted to do was share this photo of a colorful twilight I took at Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge about 6 years ago.
That evening presented me with the opportunity to photograph the changing colors of the clouds from the time the sun started to set to twilight. The colors ranged from subtle pastels to vivid colors that almost seemed painted on the sky.
I can easily remember how peaceful I felt that evening as I photographed the lake, mountains, campground, sky, and clouds. I also recall how deeply connected I felt to the earth and nature. How relaxed and calm I was.
I hadn’t edited this image until yesterday evening in part because the foreground was so dark that I thought this photo might not have much appeal to other people. But I see the beauty in it and I take my photos to please and inspire myself. So, here it is. A sunset so beautiful that it made me draw in my breath and be thankful that I was alive and in the right spot to see it.
Life is good.
