Fluffed up adult Yellow Warbler in a Chokecherry – Nikon D500, f7.1, 1/1250, ISO 500, Nikkor 500mm VR with 1.4x TC, natural light
What could be better than a photo of a Yellow Warbler? A fluffed up Yellow Warbler perched in a chokecherry tree that looks like he swallowed a light bulb! The warbler is nearly as bright as a light bulb anyway.
One thing that I believe could have made this Yellow Warbler photo better was if the chokecherry had still been in bloom but it had already finished blooming and the flower petals had fallen off when I took this photo.
Yellow Warblers are small birds that look like feathered rays of sunshine that have come to earth and I am always delighted to photograph them especially when they are out in the open, relaxed and just doing what birds do.
Life is good.

He is so cute! I enjoy hearing the “group” names.
What an entrancing splash of sunshine. Many thanks.
What a great image to start the day! I love your composition; the detail and contrasting colors are wonderful. Thanks Mia. Have a terrific 4th.
Sweet bird. Happy 4th!
He looks to have a bit of the shape of a lightbulb as well. 😂
Fabulous way to start celebrating the 4th.
Beautiful, love the yellow coloring, we don’t have these lovelies in Pittsburgh suburbs:( Might have them, they are a little shy in our City… love the feeding of the fledglings! We have just viewed our Bald Eagles on the Cam in Hazelwood on the Grey Bridge in Homestead/Hays which use to be at the U.S.Steel location. They have been gone for over 150 years, they just H9 fledged about 3 weeks ago, check it out………………………..
Love it
