Sunrise, Great Egret and a tidal lagoon – Nikon D200, handheld, f9, 1/500, ISO 400, Nikkor 80-400mm VR at 102mm, natural light
My morning has been a mess, the s___ hit the fan and while I have most of the problems sorted I haven’t had time to do the post I was going to do so instead I am simply posting a photo of a “Happy Place” for me, a tidal lagoon at Fort De Soto County Park in Pinellas County Florida to help soothe my jangled nerves.
The sun hadn’t yet come up when I spotted this Great Egret in the tidal lagoon with the Sunshine Skyway Bridge in the background and it looked like the water was on fire. Or like a fine Cognac had filled the lagoon.
Ommm
Birds, the smell of salt air, the warm, silky water on my legs and feet, the sound of the waves on the Gulf of Mexico.
Ommm
Yeah, I needed to see one of my happy places today.
Life is good.
Mia
Totally surreal and stunningly beautiful. Thanks Mia.
Your choice is much appreciated…having another storm, with heavy, wet snow, rain and more snow…sick of it!!! Have big widow maker hanging over door…will cost a fortune to remove, unless this storm brings it down…NUTS!!!
Thanks to all for your comments, they brightened up my day as I have trudged through it.
Patty, I had to bring a widow maker down by myself using my Jeep after an ice storm so I understand. I figured I’d be okay if it hit my Cherokee because they are built like a tank but if I didn’t remove it it was going to crush my fence to bits.
Mia… this is absolutely GORGEOUS!
It is one of my most favourite picture you have posted.
Thanks for finding your happy place.
Thank you for another happy place for me, too. I’ve sorely needed these images in the last couple of days since the path to my happy place has been littered with tedious stupid people who are on my last damn nerve. OMMMMM!
Just think what you give the world Mia. Surely it will return 10 times that. Ommm 🙂
Incredibly stunning photograph, Mia! This one definitely deserves a place of honor on a wall.
I hope things are better soon — calmblueoceancalmblueocean. 🙂
Hang in there! Nice moody image…
Yes I know how you are feeling today. And your post reminds me of an old song of a band I loved very much (The Moody Blues).
And the name of the song was “The Word/OM”. Sometimes we just need to remember those happy moments, take a deep breath and carry on…
Thank you.
Your title made me laugh. I don’t think you could have picked a more beautiful photo for your Happy Place. Absolutely gorgeous.
Gorgeous
Really beautiful image.
