Painted Sky at Red Rock Lakes NWR – Nikon D300, f5.6, 1/100, ISO 400, -0.3 EV, Nikkor 18-200mm VR at 31mm, natural light
I wanted to share an image today that I felt was peaceful, simple and colorful but serene and I thought of this one taken at Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge as the sun slowly dipped below the horizon this past September.
The are times when I feel that the sunset paints the sky with vibrant colors and although the earth seems muted at twilight its still anchors me. I don’t mean “anchor” as in a ball and chain, I mean grounded. Connected. Part of the natural world.
There is no fear there, no hate. There are no twisted meanings because the earth and sky don’t use words.
Nature doesn’t need words to speak.
Life is good.

Given what has been going on in the world especially in the last few weeks I felt I needed to share something peaceful and I also needed to say that in nature there is truth without words.
An AB (Absolutely Beautiful) Image, Mia. Please take a couple curtsies and bows.
