Bubble on the water – Nikon D200, handheld, f6.3, 1/1000, ISO 200, Nikkor 80-400mm VR at 400mm, natural light
Most of the time that I spend out in the field I am focused on birds or wildlife but there are times when other things catch my eye and I can’t resist taking images. Back in March of 2009 I was wandering around Fort De Soto County Park’s north beach lagoon when a huge bubble on the water caught my eye. It might not look like it in this image but the bubble was over two feet in diameter.
Bubbles And Children In Adult Bodies – Nikon D200, handheld, f6.3, 1/320, ISO 200, Nikkor 80-400mm VR at 400mm, natural light
The creator of the bubbles was having what seemed to be a great time and I remember thinking that he seemed like a child in an adult body. Which I think is great because it means the joy of living hasn’t left him and he allows playfulness to reign. It is hard to see in this image but the woman sitting on the chair behind the bubble has a smile on her lips and it seemed like she was enjoying the show.
I loved that both of these people were wearing tie-dyed shirts that echoed the spectrum of visible colors in the bubbles and the reflections on the water.
Sure, these images don’t show birds or wildlife but they do show nature.
Human nature.
Life is good.

Fantastic!
THESE MADE ME SMILE, AND IN THIS DAY, AND AGE MIA, WE ALL NEED ALL
THE SMILES WE CAN GET… ;-)))
Oh what fun. I am smiling broadly here. And had fun with bubbles myself this winter. I was trying to freeze them. Not quite cold enough here, but I spent several early mornings in the attempt.
My inner child is frequently the healthiest and happiest part of me.
These are amazing captures…not only of bubbles and their rainbow colors and their fragility, but also of joy! How wondeful to see! Love to see people having fun, including how they’re dressed, the wonderful contrast of zebra striped water and delicate dome, the action of the bubble master, and the colorful reflections echoed in the water…. This is another kind of “wildlife” and I LOVE this it!
Beautiful images Mia. ,love smelling the roses.
