A bathing Dunlin – Nikon D200, handheld, f6.3, 1/750, ISO 160, Nikkor 70-300mm VR at 300mm, natural light
This is a simple image of a bathing Dunlin from May of 2009 taken at Fort De Soto County Park that brings back wonderful memories for me. That day was absolutely chock full of interesting birds feeding, bathing, preening, flying and I reveled in it. I was there from 6:50 until 11:05 am and I don’t think I ever took a break from photographing all the birds that I saw. I went home dirty, tired and happy.
It was a great day.
Life is good.

Nice shot…sometimes it would be handy to have them available for ID purposes.
Beautiful. And those tired, dirty happy days are the best.
That bird, hunkered down in the wayer, in sweet light, looks just as happyvas you say you were…makes me want to go swimming….
Sweet!!! I love that picture
