I had some fun with this Long-billed Curlew yesterday after the clouds thinned and the sunshine fell consistently on Antelope Island State Park. So I thought I’d have some more fun and turn these 12 images into a sequential slideshow right on this page. Just click on the first image to start the slideshow.
The male curlew had been preening and a couple of times he lifted his wings, two of those times he had his eyes closed or his head was turned away but in this sequence his head was turned in a good direction and there were only two frames where his eyes were nearly closed. I thought this slide show would accentuate the Long-billed Curlew wing lift motion.
Life is good!

Always good when you can combine fun with work. Looks great.
Great sequence Mia. Beautiful light on this bird!
You take the best photos. You are very clever at putting the grouping together. Thanks for all you share with us.
How very beautiful. And how clever you are. Thank you.
An interesting bird…like subtlety of colors….amazed by length of wings…must be an amazung flier…
Beautiful bird! Nice sequence Mia! I had the good fortune years ago in Arizona to see about 8 of them in flight. Breathtaking!
