The day started off dreary at the Red Rock Lakes NWR campground but things began to get sunnier and more magical at the Sapsucker Tree I visited last year and the starring bird was the Willamson’s Sapsucker himself. It was so good to see and photograph him again. I didn’t see the female, maybe the next time I go to the tree I will.
A Mountain Chickadee also showed up on a branch chattering the whole time it was there. In hindsight I wish I had not removed my teleconverter so I could have gotten some frame filling shots but I like this image any way.
A pair of Red-breasted Nuthatches also made an appearance and went to each cavity and checked them out before they flew away.
It seems something is always going on at the Magical Sapsucker Tree!
Life is good.
Mia
I am not sure how sharp these images are because I am viewing and processing on my lap top while I am traveling.
Magical indeed. Thank you.
Mia, all the images look great! How cool that “the tree” continues to be active!
Hope you’re having fun!
LOVE, LOVE,LOVE images of Chickadee and Nuthatch…they are so darned cute!!! Ours are quite unafraid, especially the Chickadees…always the first to check us out, to ride the empty feeder to the seed bin, to announce Spring.
Your images are beautiful. I wish I could find a magical sapsucker tree!
Hi!
Love these birds! You do a great job with colors and them doing their own poses! Have a great day!
