American Bison Eye – Nikon D810, f6.3, 1/1000, ISO 500, -1.3 EV, Nikkor 500mm VR with 1.4x TC, natural light
In January of this year a Bison bull on Antelope Island was so close to the road in front of me that I decided to focus on his head and eyes. I didn’t have time to take off my teleconverter and I only had a landscape lens on my back up camera so I figured why not just focus on his eye.
Looking at this bull’s eye made me think of how long bison have been roaming the planet and how we almost pushed them to extinction. I am so very glad they didn’t become extinct.
This bison image also reminds me that we need to keep on speaking up for those who can not speak for themselves.
There are times in bird and wildlife photography I find I simply have to go with the flow and that some times the results are very pleasing to me.
Life is good.
