Lone Coyote on the shore of the Great Salt LakeLone Coyote on the shore of the Great Salt Lake – Nikon D300, f6.3, 1/1250, ISO 1000, +0.7 EV, Nikkor 200-400mm VR at 400mm, natural light, not baited or called in

Even when the light is cruddy I can’t resist taking images of Coyotes no matter where I spot them. It was a low light day when I found this Coyote along the frozen shoreline of the Great Salt Lake in October of 2012. The coyote was searching for voles and possibly falcon leftovers and didn’t seem to be having much luck.

I hope that it turned around and went back to Antelope Island State Park where coyotes are safe and not into Syracuse where it could be shot for a $50.00 bounty.  They are beautiful and help to manage the balance of nature, I wish that more people could see that.

Life is good.
