Black-billed Magpie two point landing – Nikon D810, f6.3, 1/2000, ISO 500, Nikkor 500mm VR with 1.4x TC, natural light
The past two times I have been to Antelope Island the Black-billed Magpies have put on quite a show and I have enjoyed it. Oddly enough these birds who usually begin to build their nests in early February are carrying around nesting material? It is December and way too warm, I think the birds are confused.
Anyway, I think I caught this Black-billed Magpie in a near perfect two-point landing.
Life is good. Crazy, but good.

I love seeing all the feathers in the extended wings. Nice shot, Mia! I miss seeing these birds!
Awesome photo!!!
Ooh and ahhh and thank you.
Like Sarah, I love this dramatic image with the wonderful background. I think Mia is right about confusing weather, highs of 50-60 degrees lately.
Oh! Mia! What an absolutely gorgeous shot!!! perfect in every way!!!
A perfect photo of a near-perfect landing!
Nice capture! Love the position and the contrast with background!
