Landing Ferruginous Hawk – Centennial Valley, Montana
I’m back!! My blog and photo galleries have landed on their new home and I am thrilled. Just doing a single post on my old hosting provider was exasperating, something that took 5 minutes to do was taking 45 to 50 minutes. The sites were down almost as often as they were up. Simple tasks were extremely time consuming.
I was pulling my hair out and believe me, that is something I don’t want to do. Now everything is moving smoother, faster and I am relieved. Elated. Ecstatic. Writing posts will be a joy again instead of a nightmare.
So, like this handsome Ferruginous Hawk that I photographed in the Centennial Valley of Montana… On The Wing Photography has landed!
Life is good.

P.S. I wish I would have had more eye contact from this adult Ferruginous Hawk but I do love the great view of its full spread wings!
Awesome photo! Looks like Indian totem!
Mia, what a wonderful shot!! I enjoy the series of shots that you post. This hawk is so perfect–could you add the series that you took with this great picture?
A big fan, Johanna
Stunning photo!
Thanks Montana Girl!
Beautiful bird-would love to see one in the wild someday. I’m so glad that you are set with a provider you like. You have too many fans to stop blogging!
Thank you Julie!
Welcome back-how suiting the announcement with this pose!
Thanks Jane…
Dear Mia, This is very strange. I see you are still on the WordPress blog format. Oh, Well, hope it works out for you.
Merrill, I wasn’t moving from WordPress to another blogging program, just moving from Network Solutions to another hosting provider. Network Solutions was horrible and my blog was beginning to malfunction on their servers so badly I thought about not blogging any more. But I am hosted now by another provider and things are running smoothly again.
Dear Mia, What a joy to find you in my e-mail this morning!!! I know what you were going through. When I was dealing with them it got so bad I wasn’t given access to my own blog! Plus a ton of other nasty things. I sure hope this works out for you. I’ve been gun-shy ever since my last experience… so your post here gives me hope as well.
What a glorious photo to start with! Spreading your wings…
Merrill, it is a joy t be back and having a blog that actually works well without all the issues I had on the old hosting provider.
Nice to have you back Mia… My morning is complete again, having to get your blog back.
Thank you Butch, you are very kind!

Welcome back, Mia! And, as always, what an awesome photo. BTW, I had some difficulty “landing” on your site… glad to see that the issue seems resolved. Cheers, Pierre
Thank you Pierre, it seems in some areas the site hasn’t completely repopulated yet.

Welcome back!!! I always look for your blog first thing in the morning and have really missed you. The colors of this hawk are beautiful and interestingly different from other hawks I have seen.

Welcome back.
Wonderful to see you back again:) Great choice for hawks. Love this one:)
Thank you Chris, it is good to be back.
An auspicious landing! The hawk is giving last rites to the old provider. May all your provider-related frustrations be rapidly forgotten.
Dave
Thanks Dave, everything seems to be running much smoother on this new hosting provider, its like their server is powered by Red Bull and the old one had nothing but fumes.
Great to have you back Mia! I missed my daily dose of your wonderful prairie birds! I was raised in Saskatchewan, to the north of you and am now a long way from home! Glen
Thank you Glen! I have missed writing and posting my images here. And now it will be a much more pleasant experience because of the new hosting provider. Prairie birds are special!
