Antelope Island Chukar on the rocks
Yesterday was gorgeous, a few clouds to break up a solid blue sky, temps that were warm enough to not need a jacket, beautiful light and no lake stink blowing onto the island. It felt like spring, it smelled like spring and it even sounded like spring with all the birds adding to a merry chorus. It was delightful!
Even this Antelope Island Chukar on the rocks seemed to be shrugging off the winter doldrums. Or maybe it was airing out its arm (wing) pits.
Life is good.

Thank you all for your comments on this Chukar image.
Wonderful shot, Mia!
wonderfull, it s not easy to get a chukar in this position, and you got it !!
bravo mia ☺
That stretch even made me feel better! Nice capture and wonderful photograph. I’m jealous of your island as it seems to have so many natural perches for your birds to pose on for you! Every bird around here only sits on fence posts and utility lines!
(I finally found Burrowing Owls nesting! Hope to see babies soon!)
Have a great weekend!

Beautiful, Mia; and Spring is wonderful. He’s enjoying all the wonderful sunshine, maybe?
Mia, that could be made into a bronze. Great great capture!
Perfect Photograph captures all the detail.
That’s just excellent!
Nice.
Fantastic Image Mia and it sounds like you are really enjoying the new season:)
I’m glad spring finally arrived in your area. I think you captured the Chukar celebrating … raising it’s wings and giving a silent Chukar shout of hallelujah! Great pose and BG.

Very interesting pose, Mia. I like seeing the feathers underneath the wings and the full standing stretch.
