Perched adult Red-tailed Hawk
This is a rather short tale about a Red-tailed Hawk although the tail of the Red-tailed Hawk is no shorter than any other Red-tailed Hawk. It is just a tale of a perched Red-tailed Hawk adult …
Adult Red-tail lifting off
Who lifted off from its lofty perch…
Red-tailed adult with wings spread out
To soar and survey its kingdom…
Red-tailed Hawk adult flying by
And to give me a look at its regal eye as it flew past me in its royal plumage.
Life is good.

Amazing captures Mia, love these
Nice!
I got a few shots of one today, but they pale in comparison to yours! You inspire me to do better indeed!
What a handsome fellow! I never tire of watching the red-tails around here. There’s something magnetic about them … the minute I’m in close proximity I feel a need to scan the sky and then follow and sometimes I’m rewarded with a magnificent display. Many thanks for sharing your wonderful photos. The third photo down gives me a good view of the muscular structure of the wing. Great shots…
great serie, i like the shots with the wings open, it s beautifull
bravo mia ☺
Great series, Mia, my favorite is the last photo!
This is a poetic story with beautiful photographs to match. He is a beautiful bird!
Just delightful, and as M. mentioned, very poetic. Love this post, Mia! 🙂
I love Red-tailed Hawks. Fantastic images Mia:)
Lovely images. I have a less than lovely story (depending on which side you’re on!) here: http://www.dukefarms.org/en/Stewardship/WildlifeCams/eagle-cam/ This has been all the rage in bird and wildlife communities in new jersey – it’s spreading like wildfire. It’s the clip from 3/24.
Beautiful, it sounds so poetic with the words matching every scene.
