Lanced-leaved Arrowhead – Sagittaria lancifolia
Spring reminds me of migrating birds, warmer temperatures, disappearing snow and flowers. I photographed this Lance-leaved Arrowhead at Roosevelt Wetland in Pinellas County, Florida several years ago. This herbaceous plant is also called Duck Potato partly because you can cook the tuber for about thirty minutes and eat it like a potato.

Hi I forgot to say! When cattails are young and green with some yellow to it you can dip them in batter and deep fry! They are like corn dogs( be sure to season them.
Hi! Great pic and info! When I was in High school and at our bus stop. I use to eat the white part of cattails. It taste like raw Chinese cabbage,so good. you can also boil the root like potatoes.have a great day

I cannot wait for spring. It cannot come soon enough. It’s nearly April and we’re supposed to get snow today. I want flowers, and migrating species and to not have to wear four layers when I leave the house.
