I spotted a flock of Horned Larks in Box Elder County, some were foraging on the road and a few were perched on mounds of snow that someone had plowed. It seemed like the ones on the snow were just enjoying the sunshine. I know I was!
I had a wonderful time there yesterday.

Hi! The Cardnial has started coming! Do not have a good shot yet! Love your shots and I see the horn! Love the background and images are so brigth and sharp. Have a great day!
Thank you Mom, love you! I hope you get some nice images of the Cardinals!
I’ve only seen Horned Larks once and I can’t imagine finding them in this pristine setting. So lovely, Mia!
If you visit Utah Ingrid I hope I can show you some Horned Larks.
Beautiful images, Mia! The sunshine, snow, & Horned Lark make a great combo!
Thanks Tammy!
Beautiful captures! The larks look so pretty against the snow.
Thank you Julie, I think so too.
What pretty birds! Thanks for making it possible for me to become acquainted with a bird I’d never hope to see in the wild. Lovely.
My pleasure Merrill, and thank you for your comment.
I can see that “horn” on the third frame. Nice!
Thanks Maria!
I miss seeing this bird from when we lived in west Texas. Here in Florida we only get the occasional migrant. Great shots!
Thanks Wally!
Very pretty. It’s fun to see these birds in so many different environments in winter, from snow to sand, tundra to tarmacs.
How beautiful!
Beautiful images Mia
Beautiful shots Mia, the Larks are one of my favourites.
