There was still plenty of snow on Antelope Island yesterday from the weekend snow storm but the roads were clearer and the light was a bit better. While looking for birds to photograph I spotted a pair of Coyotes hunting and roaming through the snow-covered landscape together.

I wasn’t able to get images of the first Coyote as it trotted across the open stretch of ground before the gravel road but I did get several of this Coyote in the snow that I liked.
They are such fascinating subjects.
Life is good.

Gorgeous animals, with such a look of intelligence. I am drawn to the faces of canines.
I’m very drawn to Coyotes, thanks Julie.
I stumbled onto your blog after seeing your comment on Steve’s blog (Bourbon, Bastards). I saw this coyote and thought, “He looks like the coyote I saw on Antelope Island.” Low and behold, he might be the same one! http://www.avianexplorer.com/2012/11/coyote/
Hi Elizabeth, I am glad you found my blog via Steve’s! It could be the same Coyote though there are quite a few on the island. I just love seeing & photographing them. Thanks for sharing the link to your blog and for your comment on mine.
Excellent coyote photos!
Thanks Linda!

Thanks Mom!
Nicely done Mia!
You make wonderful photography. Gorgeous shots. Love the coyote against the snow. Perfect! Kathie and I stood out in the wash last night listening to a coyote howl nearby. It was really beautiful. Such wonderful creatures to observe out in the wild.
You are right Chris, Coyotes are wonderful creatures to observe in the wild, and that song.. it gives me chills, in a good way of course.
Beautiful photos and brilliant Coyotes.
Thanks Bob!

Wonderful Mia. Such perfect profiles. I love Coyotes and wish one day to take some shots that are slightly close in quality to yours.

Thanks Susan, I thought the same thing about their colors standing out so well from the snow.
