Gyrfalcons

Gyrfalcons are the largest falcon species in the world. Gyrfalcons have pointed wings, tail is long, bodies are stout and powerful and they come in shades of white, gray and browns.

This could be the seventh record of a Gyrfalcon in Utah, we will have to wait and see if it accepted. I hope the bird sticks around so that other people can see it.

In the four and a half years I have been in Utah I have seen and photographed four escaped falconry birds, one in 2009, two in 2012 and yesterday I photographed another one, an escaped White Gyrfalcon.
