Simple Burrowing Owl juvenile portrait – Nikon D200, f8, 1/350, ISO 250, Nikkor 200-400mm VR with 1.4x TC at 400mm, natural light, not baited
There are times in my life when I feel speechless in the face of the natural world. When I absorb the beauty of the scenery that surrounds me, inhale the scent of wildflowers that fill the air, see the reflections of clouds on still water and the glow within the eyes of my subjects I feel peaceful and quiet inside. Words aren’t needed.
Then the photographer in me takes over and I try to capture to what I am seeing, the beauty, the light and the fine details of my subjects. This portrait of a Burrowing Owl juvenile represents simplicity to me. It is what is it.
