Wild Blue FlaxWild Blue Flax in the High Uintas – Nikon D200, f6.3, 1/640, ISO 400, Nikkor 200-400mm VR with 1.4x TC at 400mm, natural light

I have begun to see Wild Blue Flax (Linum lewsii) blooming in the Salt Lake Valley and even though it will be some time before it blooms in the alpine meadows of the High Uintas I thought I would post this image taken there in July of 2010.  I adore the delicacy of the Wild Blue Flax and the sage-green color of the foliage and how they move so gracefully in a breeze. I should pay more attention to wildflowers this year when my lens isn’t trained on birds wherever I travel.

I hope you have a wonderful day.

Life is good.
