Calliope Hummingbird and Rocky Mountain Bee PlantCalliope Hummingbird and Rocky Mountain Bee Plant – Nikon D300, f5.6, 1/1250, ISO 640, Nikkor 200-400mm VR with 1.4x TC at 400mm, natural light

Just a quick post this morning of a tiny Calliope Hummingbird feeding on Rocky Mountain Bee Plant that I photographed at the end of August. The Rocky Mountain Bee Plants are now all shriveled and have set seed and the hummingbirds have gone to warmer climes.

A beautiful Rough-legged Hawk was photographed yesterday at Bear River National Wildlife Refuge and I am hoping that very soon I will have my lens trained on one of them.

The seasons change and I relish the different birds I see in each one of the seasons. Birds… I can’t resist them.
