Welcome!
On The Wing Photography contains posts with my photos plus the authentic stories behind my images. Additionally, you can visit my extensive photo galleries which contain more than 14,000 images of birds, wildlife, flowers, and trees along with photos of the incredible landscapes I visit.
My dream for my site was to be unique and my real life experiences in the field certainly are. For ten years, from May 2, 2015 to May 2, 2025, I never missed a single day of sharing posts.
I am a female photographer and nature writer who travels often to find birds and wildlife.

The Stories Behind My Images
Horned Lark – Meet The 2026 ABA Bird Of The Year
Meet the Horned Lark, chosen by the American Birding Association as the 2026 ABA Bird of the Year. A bold pick, and honestly a great one.
Videos Of Winter Blackbirds At Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge
On the last day of 2025 I visited Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma. I was able to take a video of a large flock of blackbirds lifting off.
Winter Blue Jay In A River Birch
On New Year’s Day I was outside photographing birds feeding on suet balls I had placed in the crooks of a River Birch, including this striking Blue Jay.
